Something to do with the network as Malaysia %26amp; Singapore doesn't use AT%26amp;T.I heard rumors that the iPhone can't be used in Asian countries as in Singapore, Malaysia... Is it true?

If you mean you have a US phone and you are on AT%26amp;T, the answer is yes, you can continue to use your iphone on internatioanl romaing since AT%26amp;T will have local tie-ups with telcos. If you are looking to buy an iphone, no you can;t use it out of the box and will have to get it ulociked since apple has not yet officially released the iphone in Asia since their revenue model is based on tie-ups with local service providers.
I am in china and we have the Iphone they are unlocked and work OK they are not very big sellers when compared to Nokia N82 or 91 cost here is lot cheaper then USA 167 00 US equivalent today they had the newer (updated ) version on sale with 16 GB for 280 .00 uds
