no, you have been misguided by that site. No admission is done using the AIR / EML of JEE to any of NIT, admission in NIT's are done completely as per AIEEE excluding some %, which may for NRIs or for state entrance exams etc.
EXTENDED MERIT LIST (EML)
The results of JEE are being used by other institutions for admissions to their courses/programmes. JEE provides an extended merit list to these institutions for the purpose of admission by making some relaxation in the aggregate cut-off. The best way to understand this is stay in a room full of perfume or bad odor and after a while you won't smell it. The odor is not gone your sense just got dull to it. Go out for a minute or so and come back and you will smell it again.

For one thing - in order to survive as a species, we have had to move on, and in many cases, that meant getting used to something that doesn't go away. Adverse weather conditions, diseases, hunger, hardship, loss through death - we, as humans, would get used to those things to the extent that we couldn't change them. Reminds me of the Serenity Prayer! (we've all known people who refuse to get used to things, and complain forever, on and on!)
The other aspect of this is creativity. If we didn't get sort of bored with things that we are exposed to too much, we wouldn't strive to find new things. In diet, if you eat the same food over and over again, you get bored with them and want different foods. If is nutritionally bad for us to eat a very limited diet. We need a variety of vitamins and minerals.
Then, in terms of the soul, we want new beauty, new experiences, new things to learn, and that nourishes us as people, and helps us remain vibrant and alive, always creating new ways to survive AND be the dominant species, as we currently are. Being the dominant species has the tendency to assure our survival. (no guarantees!!)
