In the equation 10 = 3b = -11, what number can be used in place of b to make the equation true?

thank you (=In the equation 10 = 3b = -11, what number can be used in place of b to make the equation true?
10 = 3b = -11

No value of b will make 10 = -11

Is there some typo?

Maybe:

10 - 3b = -11

Add -10 to both sides:

-3b = - 21

Divide both sides by -3:

b = 7In the equation 10 = 3b = -11, what number can be used in place of b to make the equation true?
Unless I'm mistaken, omitting the 3b altogether leaves: 10 = -11

That's not going to work no matter what you do to b

Did you omit something?
If you meant to type: 10 - 3b = -11

3b = 10 + 11

3b = 21

b = 21/3

b = 7

Otherwise, no value of b can make 10 = 3b = -11 true.
10-3b= -11

-3b= -21

b=7
