Is it true that the pope used to be in charge of the fathers who were aquied of malesting boy's?

herd this on the viewIs it true that the pope used to be in charge of the fathers who were aquied of malesting boy's?
I didn't see The View, but I do know a little about this. When the big scandal about Catholic priests molesting children erupted a few years ago the current pope, who was not pope at the time, was put in charge of dealing with the problem. As far as I can tell his solution was to continue with business as usual. Priests accused of molestation were moved from place to place instead of prosecuted and thrown in jail. Also, accusers were paid huge settlements to avoid embarrassing trials. Watch the movie A Twist of Faith to learn about one such story. Is it true that the pope used to be in charge of the fathers who were aquied of malesting boy's?
If the The Veiw is your source, I'd think that you've hit it right on!

A Catholic preist is responsible to the Pope through Apostilic Succession. He is the living embodiement of St Peter on Earth or Jesus (if you want to take it that far). But end the end, is every Republican neighbor you have responsible for the condition of the country. That is the kind of aurgument proposed.

No, the Pope is not responsible for molestation that happenned thirty years, no less than one year ago.
The Pope is the accepted and recognized leader of most Catholics. Priests (fathers) are morally accountable and responsible to their own conscience, not the Pope's.

The AMA, the ABA, the ATA, the NTA, the AFL-CIO, Boy Scouts of American, and other professional organizations make, and have made, every effort to protect members of their organizations who have been, or are accused of, molesting boys. Sexual predators are everywhere. Can you guarantee your Little Leaguer is immune just because you don't condone molestation?
I believe Lucifer was in charge of them.
