Then why would you trust anyone who says that ';whatever'; can only be proven using the faith standard alone?
If I come up to u, said that I have an undetectable CD of Truth, and said that it could only be proven using the faith standard (not the scientific standard, or logic standard), would you buy it?
You probably wouldn't even waste 2 dollars on it (some might). Why, then, would you want to wager your WHOLE ENTIRE life on your religious beliefs?Thoughtful religious question #2: Is it true that, using the faith standard, ANYTHING in the world is correct?
This is why to believe in any of the religious beliefs is not logical. Yes, you can get away with ANYTHING using the faith standard. Be patience. soon, people will become smarter and will drop religion.Thoughtful religious question #2: Is it true that, using the faith standard, ANYTHING in the world is correct?
If Christians were to run on faith alone, the religion would have died before it even began.
The scriptures actually provide meaningful insight into things that are also timeless. It's jam-packed with information you couldn't get from the most enlightening self-help, human-behavior, existentialist book at Barnes and Noble from a current day writer(s).
If the Bible wasn't so insightful in so many areas of existance...trust me, Christianity wouldn't exist.
I think people underestimate faith, or they ';take it for granted.'; Even in Science, faith is required. Faith is required when you sleep.
And WTF is ';Faith Standard?'; A lable from Richard Dawkins?
I don't know who has been telling about this ';faith standard,'; but you have been misinformed. And theism is certainly based on more than some ambiguous assumption taken on blind faith.
The thing is, the early Christians didn't appeal to blind faith. They appealed to the resurrection.

I don't..I use logic, do you have logic?
The Catholic position on salvation can be summed up thus: We are saved by Christ's grace alone, through faith and works done in charity inspired by the Holy Spirit.
Sola gratia! Grace alone -- but a grace we have to co-operate with. Thinking that all one has to do is pray the ';Sinner's Prayer'; once to be saved is wrong. Thinking that all one has to do is be a ';good person'; to be saved is wrong.
';We are saved by 'Faith alone'';: No!
It takes more than simply knowing Jesus is the Messiah to be saved; even the Evil One knows Who Christ is.
The Nicene Creed
We believe in God, the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
and all that is seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, one in Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he was born of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered, died, and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in fulfilment of the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and His kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son
he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come.
Amen
